Hey everybody and welcome to the blog. This is where we're gonna be discussing all things story. Now right off the bat, you might be asking why I'm using the word "story" and not "script" or "screenplay." Good question (you're smart!). A script is the result of removing most of the details of a larger story. And a screenplay is a specific kind of script. Stage plays, sketches, short stories, comics, graphic novels and novel novels are all different kinds of storytelling formats, different approaches to stacking information in order to get specific results. That's why reading widely is never a mistake. It's all information management aimed at emotional manipulation. Here's a list of topics! Acts (and how they break), Action, Antagonists and Antagonistic Forces, Audacity, Audience, Beat Sheets, Beginnings, Brainstorm, Campbell (Joseph), Character, Comedy, Comps, Canon (The), Declarations, Dialogue, Education, Ego, Endings, Exposition, Family, Final Image, Finishing, Format, Heroes, Hollywood, Humor, Inciting Incident, Industry (the), Information (and when we get it), Jokes, Journalism, Literature, Loglines, Low Points, The Mid-Point, Notes, Opening Image, Markets, Math, Movies!, Note Cards, Obstacles, Orphans, Outlines, Pace, Page Count, Perfectionism vs. Impeccability, Plays, Plot, Point of View, Premise, Primary Emotional Relationship, Protagonists, Questions, Readability, Reversals, Rules of the World, Scene, School, Scope, Scripts, Scriptments, Setting, Silence, Story, Story Documents, Storytelling, Structure, Suber (Howard), Subtext, Tactics, Technology, Theme, Timing, Titles, Vocabulary, White Space, Words, Work Flow, Writers, Writing, Yung (Carl!) and Cautionary Tales of Human Folly! I'll also answer questions and address important issues of the day. It's gonna be a party and this is where it's gonna happen!

Hooray!
